Margetis Maritime, recognizing the increasing needs of the shipping community in order to manage challenges, comply with regulations and continue their day-to-day operations, has developed the new Cyber Security services division.
The purpose of this team is to offer shipping companies a holistic way to structure their cyber security in the best and most cost-effective way. Through these services, each shipping company can identify its cyber security weaknesses, anticipate the potential impact that a cyber-attack will have, design its security architecture and finally implement these plans in its daily operations in its offices and ships as a single policy.

Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessment
The scope of the performed assessment is the estimation of the Cybersecurity maturity level of a Maritime Company in critical operating areas, the identification of the security controls needed for the Company’s IT and OT assets’ protection, giving the management the opportunity to take the proper decisions for measures (operational and technical) aiming to enhance the company’s Cybersecurity level.
The Cybersecurity vulnerability assessment process contains:
- Cybersecurity controls’ assessment through a dedicated tool
- Production of a Management report for the Cybersecurity maturity level of the critical Company’s areas
- Preparation of an action plan for controls that they are assessed as Inadequate and Partial adequate

We offer Internal Audits to Maritime Companies in orfor the efficiency and effectiveness of their companies’ activities along with the related risks, giving them the opportunity to take the proper decisions and measures needed.
- Operational Audits (Business Audits):
Checking the effectiveness and the efficiency of the Companies’ operations in all the working areas (e.g. HR, Accounting, Operations, IT, Departments), point out the related risks.
- IT & Security Audits:
Checking IT Systems’ life cycle along with the related IT and Security controls, point out the related risks. The offering IT audits cover all IT aspects (e.g., Network Security, IT Governance).
- GDPR / Data Protection Audits
Checking the level of Maritime companies’ compliance with the rules and regulations of Data Protection.
- Fraud Detection Audits:
Identification of possible fraud cases, through tailormade by MARGETIS Maritime Consulting Company fraud detection scenarios.
- Special Audits:
Inspection of specific cases taking place in any working area after the Client’s specific request.
Related reports for all types of offering audits (except Special Audits) are distributed to the management of the Audited Company (client).
The audit reports contain:
- A description of the audited area
- A summary of the audit findings
- An overall risk rating of the audited area
- Analytical audit findings along with the related risk rating
- Recommendations of the measures needed for the findings to be closed
For Special Audits dedicated reports are produced where the related cases are analyzed in depth and the relevant responsibilities are highlighted.
This type of report is strictly confidential and distributed only to the CEO of the audited company (client) or to his representative after CEO’s written approval.
All the reports after distributions belong entirely to the Audited Company (client).
