George D. Margetis

Back in 2006, after a long career serving the maritime industry as senior surveyor and technical consultant, George decided to start his own firm, with prospects of turning it into one of the most competitive consulting companies in Greece.

Today, Margetis Maritime Consulting is one of the leading consulting companies, taking on every kind of assignment for the Insurance and Maritime industries.

In his role as the Managing Director of the company, George oversees all the major casualty claims and has significant experience  attending as an expert witness before Courts and Arbitration hearings. He is a member of the “Hellenic Marine Technical Consultants Association” and, as of 2019, he is also an Associate member of the Association of Average Adjusters. 

Originally from Greece, George has lived in the Americas as a student, earning a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan, and two Masters of Science, one in Naval Architecture
and Marine Engineering and one in Mechanical Engineering, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.).

Nikolaos Kafetsis

Nikolaos, after serving the Hellenic Navy for 37 years and reaching the top rank of Vice Admiral, is the Chief Operating Officer of the company. He is responsible for overseeing all running and day-to-day operations, while also offering his technical knowledge and experience in a variety of cases. 

His educational background includes three-years of postgraduate studies, on
completion of which he was awarded both a Naval Engineer degree and a Master of Science in Materials Science, from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (M.I.T.).

Nikolaos has been honored by Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for  participating in operations “Desert Shield” and “Desert
Storm”, during 1990/1991 and was distinguished with the medal of the “Ordre national du Merite” by the French Republic, in November 2019.

Nikolaos is also an honorary member of the International Propeller Club of the United States, Port of Piraeus.

George Margaronis

George, following his repatriation from London UK, has joined our family in 2022 in the position of Technical Director and Senior Surveyor in the Consulting Division.

He has an accumulative continuous experience of 27 years in the shipping industry. Has performed and supervised technical work in major shipyards worldwide and with all major classification societies. Has attended and supervised New Buildings in Japan, China, and the Philippines, from the very early stages to sea trials and delivery. Has technical expertise in all aspects of shipping repairs and maintenance, including supervision of more than 50 dry dockings worldwide, extensive steel repairs resulting from collisions and groundings, tank modifications, bow modifications, highly technical repairs on deck cranes, major shaft, propeller and rudder repairs, main & auxiliary machinery repairs, new installations. Has a proven track record in technical ship management, developing the fleet management team, formulating ship visit reports, overseeing performance and maintenance, and budgeting process to meet company goals.

George has working experience in both London and Athens; native speaker of both English and Greek languages, and is a dual National, British and Greek.

George has studied in London, UK and is a holder of BSc in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, UCL and a holder of MSc in Modular Mechanical Engineering, City University, London.

Capt. Spyros Lardis

Capt. Spyros Lardis has been following the company, since 2014. He was formerly the head of Montenegro’s regional office, but since 2020 is employed as our external senior surveyor in Piraeus head office and supports our clientele with specialized consultancy focused on marine technical and insurance matters.

Capt. Spyros educational background includes, studying at Plymouth’s Polytechnic Faculty of Maritime Studies Department of Science and a degree in Shipping Administration from the Piraeus Institute of Shipping.

Antonios Sgourakis

As a new entry Antonios joined the firm in September 2022, being previously a Staff Surveyor of ABL Piraeus Office (ex. BRAEMAR/BMT/The Salvage association) for the last 12 years. He will be acting as Surveyor responsible for all kinds of Warranty, Condition Damage Surveys and Audits.

He will also be involved with the other consultancy services
offered by the firm. Antonios studied Marine Engineering
in Merchant Marine Academy of Athens, Greece and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University
of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Before joining ABL Antonios
had approx. 4 years of sea service as Engineer Officer and
Cadet/Petty Officer (including onboard Hellenic Navy vessels), having fulfilled the required sea service for 2nd Engineer’s Certification and he is currently undertaking the seminars for obtaining the Certification. He also experiences as
newbuilding Supervisor of Bulk Carriers in China and as Superintendent Engineer of LPG and Tanker vessels in Greek
Shipping Companies of approx. 5 years. He has received
additional specialized Safety Certification as Marchant Navy
Officer on Fire Fighting and Life Saving Appliances, Ro-Ro
Passenger vessels, Ship Security Officer, and LPG/Tanker Safety. He is also certified by GL as an internal ISM/ISO

Jason Dariotis

Jason has been trained as a Lawyer, having graduated from Lancaster University and City University of London (LLM). He has past experience with Legal Firm and EY, before joining a key P&I Club Correspondence in Piraeus, spending 5 years in handling all sorts of claims. Finally, his experience includes a short spell at the Insurance and Claims department of one of the largest Shipping groups in Greece. 

Jason will be heading and coordinating our Claims handling processes, assisting our surveyors around the world in complex matters. He brings to our Firm his legal and claims handling background and experience, which includes complex casualties, collisions, pollution cases, cargo damages, as well as people claims. 

Panos Koroulakis

As a new entry, Panos joined the firm in 2021 and is acting as our surveyor in all kinds of warranty or claims inspections.

With overall experience in superintendency and technical management gained from his time as a fleet manager in dry bulk shipping sector and tankers sector previously, has the potential to undertake challenging damage surveys assigned to our company as well as upcoming technical management aspects.

Simos is a graduate naval architect & marine engineer who joined the firm in 2019. He is undertaking various assignments as a surveyor, including condition surveys for insurance institutes, shipowners & yacht owners, as well as numerous yacht damage surveys.

In October 2020, Simos acquired accredited certificates for OPRC OSR Level 1 & Level 2 related to oil spill management incidents, after successfully completing the required examinations.

Simos holds his Master of Engineering in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (N.T.U.A.).

John first visited the firm as an intern in summer of 2020, with his effectiveness and sharp mind being highly appreciated.

Hence, he joined the team of Piraeus early October, as a trainee surveyor, and is now assisting in a wide variety of cases to get familiarized with all possible scenarios & projects and cooperating with his supervisors to gain knowledge and experience.

Nikos has over 40 years of experience and expertise with yachting consulting and surveying. A keen Yachtsman and Skipper, with vast experience in yachts, including small sailboats to the largest Superyachts, he is as our Technical Consultant as well as in assessing new building contracts and specifications. Nikos is also a member of Hellenic Association for Protection of Traditional Crafts and Technical Consultant of the Hellenic Association of Professional Pleasures Yachts.

Dorieann Mouzoukis

Dorieann joined our company in December 2022, bringing along 10 years of experience in Yacht Claims Handling & Adjustment.

Her duties having undertaken the position of Senior Yacht Claims Adjuster are, amongst others, case handling, review of
reports and final reports and liaising as necessary with Underwriters, the vessel’s Owners/management and various Public Authorities if necessary.
Dorieann, who was born in the UK, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Marketing both from the University
of Hertfordshire. In addition to “competing” in the Maritime Arena, Dorieann has proudly represented Greek basketball, as a member of the Greek National Team, twice in the FIBA European Championship, as well as having won a plethora of medals and awards in the domestic Championships.

George Margelis

George joined our Firm after 11 years as Environmental Compliance Manager for a major shipping company managing over 60 ships. He handled complex engineering / environmental issues, including environmental violations in USA, court hearings ad investigations, compliance plans and process, environmental audits and managing day to day environmental issues for the fleet (ballast water treatment, scrubbers, waste disposal, fuel change-over etc.). In addition, he was responsible for the internal training of the Firm.

Before that, George served 25 years as an Engineer Officer at the Hellenic Navy, reaching the rank of Captain. As part of his service, he acted as an engineer officer for Hellenic Navy Frigates.

George has been assigned the position of Director of our newly established Environmental Consulting Division and will provide advice to our clients on a broad range of Environmental problems and issues, as well as energy efficiency issues and including assisting on ESG & Sustainability compliance services, in collecting environmental data and drafting reports.

His educational background includes three years of postgraduate studies, on completion of which he was awarded both a Naval Engineer degree and a Master of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.).

George speaks fluently Greek, English and has a good command of French. He is a member of the Hellenic Technical Chamber and SNAME.

Athina Chrysomalli

Athina became a member of Margetis Maritime in 2017. Since January 2022, she is acting as the company’s Operations & Sustainability Manager. As our operations manager, she is handling all the operational procedures for the effective flow of all on-going projects of the company, dealt with either locally or by our regional offices.

Having a spherical view of all projects’ progress and managing all available resources, she is coordinating the Consulting Department and cooperates with all our surveyors to ensure that deadlines are met. She is also actively involved in developing the company’s intranet and collaboration procedures, so that the team may function at its best.

As our sustainability manager, Athina along with the sustainability team are working on ways for the company to identify all key factors and practices which will lead us towards the development of a more sustainable future.

During the period working in the company, Athina has seized every opportunity given to gain further training and knowledge related to the maritime industry.

In August 2021, Athina also completed the annual Professional Maritime Program of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, becoming a Member of the institute (MICS), while in 2019 she became an Associate Member of the Association of Average Adjusters.

Petros Kokolakis

Petros is a fresh graduate, who joined the firm in 2022 and contributes to the newly established Maritime Environmental Consulting Division.

During his first career steps, he undertakes various projects focused on environmental issues for the fleet (and the inspection of oil and gas offshore facilities), as well as energy efficiency issues (calculations of energy efficiency existing ship index and carbon intensity indicator) under the supervision and guidance of individuals with diverse range of experience in the energy and maritime industry.

He is also trained in the execution of environmental audits and compliance plans related to MARPOL Compliance (review of ship environmental records, monitoring and analysis of bilge water and oil residues production, ballast water treatment system regulations, scrubber regulations and waste management suggestions).

Petros was born and raised in Crete, where he studied environmental engineering at the Technical University of Crete and further continued his studies in the UK, where he obtained his Master of Science in petroleum engineering. Petros is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.

Evi Anastassiou

Evi has joined our team late 2021.

With over 17 years’ extensive experience in the shipping industry, having worked in various shipping companies with almost all type of vessels (incl. cruise vessels) & with expertise in developing, coordinating, monitoring and implementing Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality functions, she will be acting as HSQE manager & auditor.

Born and raised in Greece with roots from Naxos Island. She has a bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, and she is accredited ISM/ISPS/ISO9001/ISO14001 auditor.

Prokopis Pyrris

Prokopis has been the Head of the company’s Shiprepair Brokerage Department since 2014. 

His position requires him to be in constant communication with shipowners on one hand, in order to be aware of their needs regarding vessel repairs and with shipyards around the world, on the other hand, in order to be able to acquire competitive quotations for our clients’ needs.

Having vast experience on Shiprepair brokerage projects, Prokopis has developed negotiation skills and shipyard-related knowledge that enable him to provide our clients with high quality services.

Previously Prokopis worked for the major Shiprepair Brokerage Houses in Greece and has an experience in the field since 2003. Thus, he has a Shiprepair record of over 150 dry-dockings and repairs during the years.

Prokopis holds a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture, from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens.

Andreas joined the Company in mid-2022, aligning with a new dynamic approach for the organization towards a customer-centric orientation, and the development of our commercial operations. As our Sales Manager, his objective is to render quality service through our expanding network of principals and ship-services we offer on a worldwide basis, as well as to develop and maintain positive relationships with our clients.

With a proven track record having managed a portfolio of accounts for seven years in a major brokerage firm as a Ship-Repairs Broker, his field of expertise lies within drydocking projects, acting as a focal point between our valuable clients and the principal shipyards that we cooperate with, providing solutions and resolving conflicts on a timely manner.
Having also previously worked in the past for a traditional ship-management company by being involved in both technical and operations departments, he has managed to acquire a firm understanding of the demanding requirements from the perspective of shipowners, which strengthens his ability to act as a point of contact to handle the individual needs our clients.
He is a Naval Architect/Marine Engineer with a Master’s degree in Maritime Operations & Management from City University London. With his work-related knowledge and his field-relevant academic qualifications which both combine technical and commercial background, Andreas brings to the organization his versatility, an analytical mindset with attention to detail, as well as a passion for the modernization of the shipping industry.

Panagiotis Christias

Panagiotis has 33 years’ experience in technology and IT systems audit areas in the Banking sector.

He started his career as an application programmer, analyst, and IT project Manager on Unisys Mainframe System in the Technology Division at Alpha Bank. Then he was transferred to the Audit Division and became IT Auditor, IT Audit Manager, and IT Audit Head. He has performed and managed numerous IT Audits in Greece and in international subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Albania, and Romania.

On 2018 he became Chief Audit Executive (CAE) at Alpha Bank Albania till 2022 and during this period he was also Audit Committee Member of the operating in the country, association of Banks.

Panagiotis has been assigned the position of Director of our newly established Cybersecurity Division. As Cybersecurity Director he is responsible for the deployment of procedures and techniques related to Cybersecurity risks’ identification as well as the design of cutting-edge solutions to protect maritime companies and vessels from Cybersecurity threats.

Panagiotis has earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens specializing in computer science. He also holds 3 internationally recognized certifications for IT Audit, Information Security, and Data Protection: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Data Privacy Engineer (CDPSE).

He is a member of the Information System Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Joining the company in mid-2020, Natalia has added spirit and energy to the Piraeus team.

Margarita Bartzi

Margarita joined our team in late 2022 and she now acts as our Business Development Manager, aiming to identify new market opportunities and to be part of our business expansion.

Margarita studied Economics at Piraeus University, before attending Cardiff University where she obtained a master’s degree in Marine Policy. The demanding and fast-paced world of ship-broking attracted her interest, leading her to start her career as a chartering broker for major companies in London and Piraeus. Her passion for excellence and her constant thirst for new knowledge motivated Margarita to pursue further postgraduate studies at Swansea University, completing her LLM in International Maritime Law with Distinction. Shortly after graduation, she secured a prestigious internship with a major international law firm at Lloyd’s building in London and was awarded the first prize in a law competition.

In order to gain an insight in shipping operations and expand her understanding of the legal complications that may arise while on board, Margarita sailed with two different ocean-going crude carriers, gaining an invaluable four-month experience that strengthened her ability to adapt to demanding environments and approach each challenge with creativity, innovation and a can-do attitude.

Margarita has been involved in claims consultancy and various operational roles during her career, as well as in Business Development for a foreign P&I Correspondent in Greece. Her diverse academic background and experience combined with her outgoing personality and her growth mindset will be a valuable asset for Margetis Maritime, forming strategic partnerships to support our firm’s vision.

Vassilis Mavrofrydis

Vassilis was appointed as Commercial Manager in September 2021. His mission is to drive the transformation of the company into a customer-centric, holistic service provider.

His main task is the streamlining of the commercial and marketing procedures of different departments to reflect the company’s vision-mission-values.

He is also responsible for the introduction and deployment of innovative technologies into the company.

He has worked in Logistics and Commercial functions with Greek and multinationals companies like Mobil Oil Hellas, BP Hellas and OTESAT-Maritel of the OTE Group.

He has spent the best part of a 30-year career serving the Oil & Gas and Maritime industries in Greece and internationally. His areas of expertise include satellite telecommunications, maritime software, bridge electronics and maritime cyber-security.

Previously he has worked as a business development consultant for various companies in Greece and abroad, involved both in commercial and management assignments.

He has studied in the UK and is a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics and a Master’s degree in Management Science from the University of Kent at Canterbury.

Antonis Panagiotareas

Antonis is Margetis’ Maritime Consulting Regional Manager in Houston, Texas, where he provides technical consultancy to clients around the world, while also handling assigned claims and marine warranty surveys for major Protection & Indemnity Clubs and Hull & Machinery underwriters. He is an experienced director with a demonstrated history of working in the maritime industry and has developed skills relating to freight, international shipping, safety management systems and International Safety Management code.

Throughout his career, Antonis has worked as technical superintendent, fleet manager and DPA (Designated Person Ashore) for a series of shipping companies, managing both bulkers and tankers. He has been actively involved in the supervision of new buildings in South Korea and in China, while he was also the General Manger of a Nasdaq listed shipping company, operating up to 10 bulk carriers.

Among his many certifications and memberships, Antonis is also a member of the Industry Advisory Board for the department of Marine Engineering, at Texas A&M University at Galveston. 

Antonis is also an Associate member of the Association of Average Adjusters, while he also holds, after the successful completion of the required exams, accredited certificates for OPRC OSR Level 1 & Level 2 related to oil spill management incidents.

Kent Dangtran

General Manager of Margetis Offshore Consulting, Energy – Oil & Gas Department

Kent is based in our Houston office and is the General Manager of Margetis Offshore Consulting, the Energy – Oil & Gas department. He is coordinating and managing all the company’s assigned projects which are related to the energy sector, on a worldwide basis.

Kent has spent 15 years with the American Bureau of Shipping (A.B.S.), as an offshore Project Manager and Principal Engineer undertaking various high-profile projects, including the BP Thunder Horse Project (before and after the major casualty sustained in 2006), the BHP Bilton Neptune TLP Project and the BP HOLSTEIN Spar Project.

Of noteworthy importance is, also, his involvement in the revision and updating of the A.B.S. “Guide for Building and Classing Facilities on Offshore Installations”, which covers A.B.S. requirements for process, industrial, marine and safety systems for all offshore site dependent floating and fixed facilities. In general, Kent is an expert in compliance issues with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR – USA) and IMO (International Maritime Organization) regulations, both for ship, mobile offshore drilling units (MODU) and floating systems (particularly for the Gulf of Mexico).

Throughout his carrier, Kent has had vast experience in project management and systems engineering for Production Facilities, FPSOs, Semi-submersible vessels, Spars, TLPs, Fixed Platforms, MODUs, and Naval Vessels.

Kent has earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from the Texas A&M University, and a Master of Business Administration in Project Management from the Naveen Jindal School of Management, in UT Dallas.

Dragan Curin

Regional Manager, Split office

Dragan joined Margetis Maritime Consulting in 2016, when he became the Regional Manager of our office in Split, Crotia. 

His main responsibilities include warrantied surveys for renown insurance companies, as well as damage surveys and investigation on all kinds of vessels. Dragan is also highly involved with the Croatian yacht market and has major experience with yacht casualty inspections. 

His previous employment offered him notable technical management skills, mostly related to tankers and general cargo vessels. During his career, Dragan has also successfully handled a number of P&I and H&M claims, while he has also undertaken duties as a Class and Flag surveyor.

Dragan has nautical studies as an Engineer of Maritime Transport and in Maritime Management in Shipping and
Shipbuilding Industry, having attended the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split.

Petar is the Regional Manager of our office in Bijela, Montenegro.
Before the commencement of his cooperation with Margetis Maritime Consulting, he was working as a Senior Technical Superintendent and assistant
Operator for general cargo vessels, cement carriers and a small jack-up mobile offshore drilling unit, for a shipping company based in Adriatic Shipyard Bijela. 

For over 15 years, Petar is also a Ship Repairs & Project Manager engaging in the docking, repairing and conversions of various types of vessels, as bulk carriers, tankers, passenger ferries and others. Concurrently he has been working as a Marine Consultant and Surveyor for a company in Montenegro
and has performed various surveys on behalf of VHT Hamburg.

Petar holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Naval
Architecture, from the Belgrade University.

Zou Zheng

Zou joined our company in 2017, with the establishment of the Shanghai office, where he acts as Regional Manager and senior surveyor. Throughout the years we are cooperating, Zou has carried out numerous condition and loss prevention surveys, as well as damage and casualty related surveys and causation investigations, on behalf of major insurance companies. His career has, also, offered him abundant experience related to shipyards and the shiprepair industry in China, which lead to excellent contact relations with the major shipyards in China.

Zou had previously worked for classification societies and flag states, conducting various surveys and undertaking numerous and diverse assignments, as a surveyor, a marine superintendent, an independent consultant, but also as a shipyard engineer and a supervisor for new buildings. 

Zou holds a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Harbin Engineering University in China.

Seow Yee Chen

Yee Chen is the Regional Manager of our Singapore office, which was established in 2018. He undertakes projects assigned to the company, serving the greater southeastern Asia. Since the beginning of our cooperation, Yee Chen has managed numerous challenging damage surveys and machinery failures, mainly for Hull & Machinery underwriters, but
has provided consulting services for other maritime institutions, Protection & Indemnity clubs and shipowner companies.

During his career, he reached the rank of Chief Engineer at sea, he has worked as Class surveyor and Superintendent
Engineer, but was employed as a marine consultant and surveyor.

Whilst at sea, Yee Chen was on board bulk carriers, car carriers and containers, but was assigned on projects for all kinds of vessels, including CAP surveys for tankers and inspections for
offshore facilities. 

Yee Chen is a graduate of the Singapore Maritime Academy, while he is also a certified ISM, ISPS and ILO-MLC 2006 auditor.

Richard Chen

Richard, colleague of Seow Yee Chen, has joined the Singapore office in 2019, a year after its establishment. There he acts as our senior surveyor and technical consultant and engages in several types of warrantied surveys on behalf of Protection & indemnity Clubs, Hull & Machinery Underwriters, and shipowners. His assignments further expand to complex casualty inspections and causation investigation, with significant specialization in machinery failures. 

The starting point of his career was the Singapore Navy, where he was employed as an Officer and has sailed on board corvettes as a Marine Engineer.

Richard also has  vast experience as an ISM/ISPS lead auditor, given that during his career he has provided the same services in a
number of maritime-related companies, focusing also on the implementation of key ISO Standards and regulations.

Richard holds a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from the National University of Singapore.

Capt. Anil Kumar

Capt. Anil represents the company’s office in Dubai, since 2017, where he acts as Regional Manager. He specializes in marine operations and technical & navigational audits, but also carries out all kinds of surveys for major insurance institutions and companies connected to the maritime industry.

Most notably though, Capt . Anil has been carrying out Pre-vetting inspections, assisting Managers in preparing vessels for the Ship Inspection Report Program (SIRE) and Offshore Vessel Inspection Database (OVID) of the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF).

He is rather familiar with all kind of vessels, with an extra emphasis on tankers, while, over the years of his career, he has developed excellent managerial skills handling pre- and post-fixture operations for ship owning and managing companies. 

Anil has a Bachelor of Science in Nautical Sciences, from the University of Mumbai and a master’s degree in Business Administration, from the S.P. Jain Centre of Management.

Hatim Husein

Hatim works in close cooperation with Capt. Anil, in our regional office in Dubai.
There, he undertakes assignments as a senior surveyor, providing technical
consulting services to various maritime companies, including Protection & Indemnity Clubs and Hull & Machinery Underwriters.

With a career of over 15 years, Hatim had reached the rank of Chief Engineer on sea-going vessels, more specifically employed on board tankers, bulk carriers and offshore supply vessels. Following his sea-going experience he worked as a Superintendent Engineer for a major operator of offshore supply vessels and drill-ships in India, managing aspects of its 45-vessels fleet.

A member of the “Institute of Engineers” (MIET), in UK, Hatim holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, a bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from the Marine Engineering and Research Institute of Mumbai, and a post graduate diploma in Ship Management from the Narottam Morarji Institute of Shipping, in Mumbai.

Capt. Vishwanath Mayekar

Capt. Vishwanath is the Regional Manager of our office in Mumbai, the shipping gateway to the West Coast of India.
Before establishing Celestial Meridian Shipping in November 2012 along with Capt. Mandar Sherlekar, Capt. Vishwanath has worked as the General Manager of a reputable shipping company in Mumbai, having vast experience with inspections and audits onboard a variety of vessels.

During his professional career that counts more than 20 years, he has had extensive sailing experience on VLCC’s and product tankers, asphalt carriers, gas tankers, bulk carriers and RO-ROs. 

Capt. Vishwanath has also acted as an independent surveyor on behalf of owners, managers and charterers, and
conducted various surveys on behalf of H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs, while he was also engaged with a number of cargo cases for charterers’ interests.
As a senior surveyor of Margetis Maritime Consulting in Mumbai, Capt. Vishwanath and the team are undertaking all sorts of assignments, from simple condition surveys to complex repair and damage surveys, on behalf of H&M Underwriters, P&I Clubs and other Maritime Institutions.

Capt. Mandar Sherlekar

Capt. Mandar is a senior surveyor at our office in Mumbai, the shipping gateway to the West Coast of India.
Before establishing Celestial Meridian Shipping in November 2012 along with Capt . Vishwanath Mayekar, Capt. Mandar had been employed as a Marine Superintendent and HSEQ Manager in a reputable shipping company in Singapore and as a General Manager, while he also conducted inspections and audits onboard ships.

He has a significant sailing experience on Gas and Oil Tankers and was involved in numerous projects concerning gas tankers, oil tankers, chemical tankers, bulk carriers and RO-ROs.

Apart from acting as an independent surveyor for owners, managers and Flag states, Capt. Mandar has conducted many surveys on behalf of H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs and has, additionally, assisted in a Rock Docking operation at Pipavav Shipyard, in India.

Acting as a senior surveyor of Margetis Maritime Consulting in Mumbai, he undertakes various assignments, including condition and damage surveys, on behalf of Hull & Machinery Underwriters, Protection & Indemnity Clubs and other Maritime Institutions.

Jagadeesh Chandra Vasu

Jagadeesh is a senior surveyor of Margetis Maritime Consulting, based in Kakinada, located at the East Coast of India.
He was a Deputy General Manager of the technical department, for a shipping company based in Kakinada and has gained remarkable experience by conducting numerous pre-purchase inspections in addition to damage and technical surveys for H&M Underwriters, P&I Clubs, vessel owners and charterers. Pre-entry surveys for H&M Underwriters and P&I clubs, were also included in his scope of work as a third-party surveyor.

Among his various tasks, he also assisted in ship repairs, fabrication jobs and during the preparation of vessels prior inspections.

During his seagoing career, counting more than 17 years, Jagadeesh has had an extensive sailing experience, mostly on bulk carriers, but was also involved in projects dealing with oil tankers, chemical tankers, bulk carriers, tugs and barges.

Acting as a senior surveyor of Margetis Maritime Consulting in Mumbai, he undertakes various assignments, including condition and damage surveys, on behalf of Hull & Machinery Underwriters, Protection & Indemnity Clubs and other Maritime Institutions.
