Terms & Conditions for participation in training courses

These terms and conditions define the ground rules for any course run or organized by Margetis Maritime (“We” or “Us”).

1. Definitions

“Agreement” means these training course terms and conditions.

“Course” means the training course as described on our website and purchased by the Customer.

“Customer” refers to the individual or entity that has purchased the Course as set out on this website.

“Participant” refers to the individual that has been enrolled to attend the Course.

2. General:

This Agreement is deemed to have been accepted by the Customer once a booking has been received and accepted by Us.

3. Enrolment and Payment terms:

  • Enrolment and registration: Bookings are made on a first come first served basis. To ensure the quality of the training Courses, the number of participants is generally limited to 15
  • We have the right not to accept a booking. A participant’s place at a Course will be confirmed once payment has been made by the Customer in full, before the date of the commencement of the Course. We maintain the right to reject a request to attend a Course for any reason whatsoever (for example including, but not limited to, in case of low or full participation).
  • Issuance of Invoice: We can issue an invoice for our fees, if the Customer selects such invoice option at booking. If the Customer selects to receive an invoice, the Customer’s booking will be pending until payment in full has been confirmed. Pending bookings which have not been paid 10 calendar days prior to the scheduled Course will be cancelled, and we reserve the right to allocate the reserved slot to any other participant.
  • A 5% discount applies to bookings of more than 1 participant from the same company if the booking is made collectively (the relevant option shall be selected at registration).
  • In case of booking a face-to-face Course, it is the responsibility of the participants attending the Course, to arrange and pay for their own travel and accommodation. All travel to and from the Course venue is the sole responsibility of the participants. We shall not be liable for any losses, whether direct or indirect, including but not limited to travel and accommodation costs suffered by or on behalf of any person who aimed to attend the Courses, in the event that we opt to cancel same for any reason whatsoever.
  • Enrolment/ registrations will conclude the day before the Course is scheduled to commence. In case the Customer opts to make a late booking, such participant may contact Us on training@margetis.com,to verify whether there is any remaining place available. 

4. Cancellation, Re-Scheduling and Refund:

  • No refund will be provided in case that the participant wishes to cancel their registration or does not attend the Course.
  • Customers may at their request in writing as per the below clause seek for the postponement of their seat at a scheduled Course.
  • Requests to transfer a Course booking at a different date will be honoured, subject to the condition that such a request is placed up to 10 calendar days prior to the scheduled Course via email at training@margetis.com. The date transfer request will solely be accommodated for a period of 6 months starting from the initial date of registration. After such 6 months period, no transfer requests shall be accommodated, nor any refund request will be accepted.

We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule a Course at any time and for any reasons.  We endeavour to inform the registered attendees as soon as possible of the cancellation or rescheduling in which case they will be offered the option of a refund or will be given priority for the next available Course. Margetis Maritime’s liability will be limited to the value of the Course fees paid and we will not be liable for any other expenses incurred by the Customer or the registered attendees.
