Collision incident at Neapolis Greece

May 16, 2021

How do you safely defuse a potentially explosive situation at sea?

Well, congratulations to our Naval Architects Nick Michalakopoulos and Simos Pontikos, for a job well done without any injuries or pollution.

We attended the “KYVELI” / “AFINA I” collision incident at Neapolis Greece at the instructions of Salvors, coordinating the Salvage operation and carrying our analytical Naval Architectural calculations, including running complex damage stability and strength scenarios to enable the safe separation of the 2 ships, without any of the severely damaged ships breaking or sinking.

Margetis Maritime Consulting has substantial experience in Salvage operations, now having purchased modern and sophisticated software, we are capable and competent in advising Salvors, H&M Underwriters, P&I Clubs, and Owners on complex operations (including on-site attendance and analytical work as part of emergency response).

You never know when you will be in need of our emergency services. If you want to be prepared for such events and you are interested in learning more about our new services and our success stories, we would be delighted to provide you with more information.
