Major fire incident onboard a container vessel
Investigation and evaluation of the fire circumstances were ascertained to the extent possible. Ignition and propagation of fire were confirmed at the lower boiler platform. The vessel’s crew response was immediate and the fire was extinguished within 1.5hrs.
During our survey, extensive damages were noticed in way of upper and lower boiler platforms, affecting the boiler, incinerator, funnel steel structure, and associated electrical equipment, insulations, and firefighting equipment in the vicinity
