Margetis Maritime was involved, on behalf of the P&I club, in a major collision incident between two bulk carriers, which led to extensive damage in the way of both vessels.
The vessels were shifted to shipyard facilities in loaded condition, to undergo damage repairs, which consisted of cropping of all the damaged plating and prefabrication/welding of new blocks.
During the period of repairs, cargo quantities of both vessels had to be removed and for the first vessel, were transshipped to another ship, whilst for the other vessel, unloaded and stored in special facilities onshore.
Since the incident occurred, our firm has been closely monitoring the progress of repairs as well as the cargo operations for both vessels protecting the interests of the P&I Club and Members and keeping all involved parties updated by providing constant advice and assistance for the successful handling of this claim.
